The alignment alternative shown on this website was chosen based upon industrial growth opportunities, previous public input, traffic studies, economic and environmental impacts, and costs. The future objective is to refine this alignment and preserve the corridor for a planned and organized future industrial growth for the Danville Metropolitan Area.
Based upon results from a recent Origin and Destination Study and the desires of the southern communities in Vermilion County, the southern termini of the Beltline is at Perrysville Road just south of a new interchange on I-74. The Origin and Destination Study also projects only a 2% decrease in traffic volumes on Illinois Route 1 through Danville after the entire Beltline is constructed.
