Our Mission:
The Danville Parks and Public Property
Department exists to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all citizens
of Danville by providing recreation and leisure opportunities through organized
programs and acquiring, developing, maintaining, preserving, and enhancing
recreational areas, open spaces, and facilities in the most cost-effective
manner.

Facility Rental and Special Services:
Harrison Park Clubhouse
This historic site was given to the City
of Danville by Mr. and Mrs. John H. Harrison in memory of his mother, Mrs. Minta
Harrison on November 11, 1928. The mayor formally accepted on behalf of the City
on November 13, 1928. On February 13, 1940, Harrison Park was annexed into the
city by ordinance 4081 which was passed and approved. Mr. Harrison donated the
land and house to the city. For more information on rental

Danville Stadium
15 acres. 9th & Highland (exit #215 from I-74), Danville (217) 431-2261
Built in 1946, serves as home field for Danville High School,
Schlarman
High School,
American Legion Post 210 Senior and Junior Teams, and the
Danville Dans (NCAA sanctioned, major
league sponsored), summer collegiate league. Universal Studio's film featuring
John Goodman as Babe Ruth, " The Babe" was filmed in
this historic minor league facility.

Garfield Park
North Griffin, Danville
12 acres. Picnic areas, Pool, lighted softball/baseball
field, lighted basketball & tennis courts, and playground. The City Municipal
Pool is directly west of the park.
Harrison Park Clubhouse
The Harrison Park clubhouse is available for private parties, banquets,
wedding receptions and business meetings and can accommodate up to 300 people.
Liberty Park

Lincoln Park
