Our Mission:

    The Danville Parks and Public Property Department exists to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Danville by providing recreation and leisure opportunities through organized programs and acquiring, developing, maintaining, preserving, and enhancing recreational areas, open spaces, and facilities in the most cost-effective manner.

Facility Rental and Special Services:

Harrison Park Clubhouse

This historic site was given to the City of Danville by Mr. and Mrs. John H. Harrison in memory of his mother, Mrs. Minta Harrison on November 11, 1928. The mayor formally accepted on behalf of the City on November 13, 1928. On February 13, 1940, Harrison Park was annexed into the city by ordinance 4081 which was passed and approved. Mr. Harrison donated the land and house to the city. For more information on rental availability, call 431-2382.

228 acres. Provides a 6148 yard 18 hole golf course, Par 71.

Cannon Park

5 acres. 1701 N. Jackson Street, Includes lighted Tennis courts, playground equipment, and picnic areas.
 
Carver Park
9 acres. 420 E. Williams Street, Softball field, basketball court, lighted tennis court, playground, picnic area.
 
Danville Stadium
15 acres. 9th & Highland (exit #215 from I-74), Danville (217) 431-2261
Built in 1946, serves as home field for Danville High School, Schlarman High School,
American Legion Post 210 Senior and Junior Teams, and the Danville Dans (NCAA sanctioned, major league sponsored), summer collegiate league. Universal Studio's film featuring John Goodman as Babe Ruth, " The Babe" was filmed in this historic minor league facility. Click here for map.
 
Douglas Park
15 acres. South Bowman Avenue, Danville
Basketball, horseshoe pits, lighted ball diamond,
pavilion, picnic areas, stage, Skateboard park, & shelter.
 
Elmwood Park
4 acres. 411 Elmwood Street, Picnic Area, playground, lighted basketball courts.
 
Ellsworth Park
Oakwood Ave. Danville
61 acre park. Lighted softball diamond, playground, football field, fishing, boat ramp, lighted basketball courts, shelter, & picnic areas.
 
Espensheid Park
70 acres. Trail and natural wildlife area. Undisturbed natural park.
 
Garfield Park
North Griffin, Danville
12 acres. Picnic areas, Pool, lighted softball/baseball field, lighted basketball & tennis courts, and playground. The City Municipal Pool is directly west of the park.
 
Harrison Park Clubhouse
The Harrison Park clubhouse is available for private parties, banquets, wedding receptions and business meetings and can accommodate up to 300 people. 
 
Liberty Park
200 E. Liberty Lane
7 acres. Soccer field, playground, walking trail, lighted tennis courts & picnic areas.
 
Lincoln Park
1000 Logan Ave., Danville
22 acre park. Home of AMBUC'S new "Playground for Everyone". Lighted Basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic area, playground, Shelter, Bandshell/Stage & trail. Site of Lamon House, Danville Tennis Club and the annual Arts in the Park.
 
Meade Park
South Oregon, Danville
9 acres. Picnic Area, Lighted ball diamonds, basketball court, playground, tennis court.
 
Winterview Park
       56 acre park. Picnic areas, baseball and softball fields, soccer fields. shelter, trail, sand volleyball court, and natural areas.
 
 Winter Park
900 E. Winter, Danville
26 acre park. Several softball diamonds, playground, sand volleyball, picnic areas, Spray Park, Soccer Field, trail, shelter and refreshment stand.
